How To Measure Your Hat Size

Determine Your Hat Size

Since hat sizing is universal, you should be able to reference any high quality hat you own or have tried on in a fine hat shop. To be sure of your size, you can also follow these simple directions:

  • You will need a flexible tape measure, or a string and a ruler.
  • Find your head circumference by measuring around the crown of your head (where the hat should sit). This is roughly 1/8" above your ear, and across the middle of your forehead.
  • Find the range under the "Head Circumference" column which contains your measurement. If you are between sizes, choose the next largest size.

We cannot guarantee that these instructions will provide a perfect fit, but should get you very close. To slightly increase a hat use a hat stretcher, or pad at hat with a hat sizer if slightly larger than your head to get the perfect fit – firmly in place but not too tight.
